What is your style?
I’ve asked clients to describe it and the words that pop up often are candid, free, and fun. I like to stay at a photojournalistic approach when shooting.
What is this photojournalistic approach?
Photojournalism is defined as telling a story with photos, more as a documenting than posing. With no involvement, direction or control from the photographer. I’m capturing a moment as it happens. and then I tend to bend the “rules” of photography a little. I LOVE those documentary images from an event or moment – many times my favorite images from a session is when the clients are playing/flirting/interacting with each other with no direction from me! However, I also mix in poses and directed moments for those more traditional portraits.
Will you direct us?
I do. Posing and directing a good clean photo is what I do! As mentioned above, I love to pose my clients and in those moments right before or after the “pose”…is many times the best shot!! I love to find inspiration from different sources to have fun and unique photos and locations.
How long until we get our photos?
Roughly 2-4 weeks depending on the session type
Do we have a print release?
You do. That means you can print and share until your heart’s content.
Would you travel out of state?
Yes, of course! I love to take the show on the road. New locations and people are my favorite, and to have the chance to include photography… I would be overjoyed! Travel fees would be required and can be negotiated upon scheduling.
Are pets allowed in the session?
Yes, of course! Pets are a huge part of most families and I would love to include them. However, I do ask that you bring someone with you to watch your pet between shots.
How do I book with you?
You can contact me via email, phone, and Facebook. My schedule tends to fill up quickly, especially in the warmer months, so please be flexible with your dates/times, but I will do my best to accommodate your needs. It’s never too early to book your session, the sooner the better. Once a date has been selected, a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit to secure your session date/time. The balance is due by the session date.
Do you offer payment plans?
Of course! I understand that photographs are an investment. Payment plans are available with my milestone package, weddings, and birth stories. But we can work together to devise a plan that works perfectly for you, if you need a payment plan on a different package. Just ask!
What should I wear to my session?
This is one of the most asked questions, and the answer is simple: whatever you are comfortable in! If you are unsure about colors or patterns coordinating, feel free to ask. I have lots of ideas! I want you to wear what you would wear on a normal day, as to not be a stranger in your own photos. Most of the time I will ask if you send me outfits prior to that way I can arrange for a good mash of props to bring with me.
Do I have control over what images you share?
I will have you sign a release for me to use your images in social media. If you sign the release, I will post (appropriate) images for promotions or to tag you in as sneak peeks on social media.
Will you come to my home?
Yes, I would love too! This is what lifestyle is all about!
What happens if it rains or someone gets sick?
I understand that people get sick and that the weather is unpredictable, so I always plan in advance. If you or someone in your group falls ill, we can reschedule for another date. As well as if the weather isn’t cooperating that day, rescheduling is no problem. The client and photographer will come to an agreement on a new date and the shoot will go off without a hitch.
Do you provide mini-sessions?
At this time, I don’t offer mini sessions unless previously announced. Keep an eye on my Facebook, as this is where I advertise most mini-sessions (www.facebook.com/yourlifephotography)
